Mind and Brain Care would like to introduce you to our Pediatric Neuropsychology Services:
Dr. Mabel Lopez is a neuropsychologist with expertise on how learning and behavior are associated with the development of brain structures and systems. She specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment planning for children between the ages of 18 months to 18 years of age with cognitive and behavioral impairment. Supportive services (e.g., tutoring, cognitive rehabilitation, behavioral interventions) are available for children and parents, as needed.
Dr. Jeannette Corredor has a background in counseling, disabilities, and college preparedness. She can work with your child or adolescent in individual therapy or your while family in family counseling.
We have psychometrists specialized in testing and neurofeedback techniques.
A neuropsychological evaluation is not the same as a school assessment, which generally focuses only on achievement and skills needed for academic success. Generally, school assessments are not able to diagnose learning or behavior disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) caused by altered brain function or development. Problems can vary from learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD or Autism, to psychiatric disorders such as depression, to medical disorders (e.g., brain tumors, TBI, epilepsy).
Mind and Brain Care understands that children must attend school and parents oftentimes work. We have flexible schedules, including evening and weekend hours.
